LIMITED STAY PERMIT VISA

General

1. Limited stay visa should be given for :

a. Working; and

b. Non-working.

 

2. Working reasons :

a. As professional;

b. Join to work on the ship, floating equipment, or installation in Indonesia’s seas area, territorial sea, continental shelf, or Indonesian exclusive economic zone (ZEE);

c. Do the duty for spiritual;

d. Do the activity according to profession and receive salary, such as sports, artist, entertainment, treatment, consultant, lawyer, trading, and other licensed profession;

e. Film-making activity which had been licensed ( Commercial );

f. Supervising quality the goods ( Quality Control );

g. Inspecting or auditing on branch office in Indonesia;

h. Serve after-sales;

i. Installation and reparation machine;

j. Do a non-permanent job in order to construction;

k. Hold art, music, and sports performances;

l. Hold a professional sports activity;

m. Do a treatment; and

n. Trial for candidate of foreign workers

 

3. Non-working reasons :

a. Foreign investment;

b. Training and scientific research;

c. Education;

d. Family reunification, consist of :

e. Foreigners married with Indonesian;

f. Foreigners affiliated with husband or wife who have limited stay permit card or permanent stay permit card;

g. Children from foreigners and Indonesian;

h. Child ( <18 years) and not married from foreigners and Indonesian who affiliated with Indonesian father or mother;

i. Child ( <18 years ) and not married affiliated with the parents who have limited stay permit card or permanent stay permit card;

j. Repatriation; and

k. Elderly travelers.

 

4. Limited stay visa could be given to foreigners according to point no. 2 and 3 in letter a and b, on their arrival on certain immigration checkpoints.

 

5. Limited stay visa according do point no. 4 is limited stay on arrival visa which could be given in order to work at least for 1 month.

 

6. The request of limited stay on arrival visa must be submitted by the guarantor.

 

7. Limited stay on arrival visa could be given after the request approved by director general of immigration.

 

8. Certain immigration checkpoints established by ministerial decree.

 

Requirements

1. The request of stay visa submitted by the foreigners or guarantor to :

a. Director general of immigration; or

b. Chief Representative of Republic of Indonesia, with fulfill the form and attach the requirements.

 

2. For the foreigners who submit the request of limited stay visa to director general of immigration, must attach this requirements :

a. Letter of guarantee from guarantor, except for foreigners who married with Indonesian, or child from marriage of foreigners and Indonesian;

b. Photocopy legal passport :

1. At least 12 months for who will stay in Indonesia at most 6 months;

2. At least 18 months for who will stay in Indonesia at most 1 year;

3. At least 30 months for who will stay in Indonesia at most 2 years;

c. Prove of having cost of living for him/herself and/or his/her family during his/her living in Indonesia;

d. Photo 4 x 6 cm ( color )

 

3. Besides to attach the requirements in point no. 2, for :

a. Foreigners in order to working :

1. As professional;

2. Join to work on the ship, floating equipment, or installation in Indonesia’s seas area, territorial sea, continental shelf, or Indonesian exclusive economic zone (ZEE);

3. Do the duty for spiritual;

4. Do the activity according to profession and receive salary, such as sports, artist, entertainment, treatment, consultant, lawyer, trading, and other licensed profession;

5. Film-making activity which had been licensed ( Commercial );

15. And non-working condition involve foreign investment, and training and scientific research, also have to attach Letter of Recommendation from government agencies in accordance with the legislation, e.g. : Izin Mempekerjakan Tenaga Asing ( IMTA ) and Rencana Penggunaan Tenaga Kerja Asing ( RPTKA ) from Manpower ministry or BKPM.

b. Foreigners who married with Indonesian, also have to attach photocopy of marriage certificate or marriage book;

c. Foreigners who affiliated with husband or wife who has limited stay permit card or permanent stay permit card, also have to attach photocopy of marriage certificate or marriage book;

d. Children from marriage of foreigners and Indonesian, also must attach :

1. Photocopy of birth certificate;

2. Photocopy of marriage certificate or parent’s marriage book;

3. Photocopy of residential card ( KTP ) of their Indonesian father or mother; and

4. Photocopy of family card ( KK ) of their Indonesian father or mother.

e. Children ( < 18 years ) and not married from the foreigners who married with Indonesian who affiliated with his/her Indonesian father or mother, also must attach :

1. Photocopy of birth certificate;

2. Photocopy of marriage certificate or parent’s marriage book;

3. Photocopy of residential card ( KTP ) of their Indonesian father or mother; and

4. Photocopy of family card ( KK ) of their Indonesian father or mother.

f. Children ( < 18 years ) and not married who affiliated with his/her parents who have limited stay permit card or permanent stay permit card, also must attach :

1. Photocopy of birth certificate;

2. Photocopy of marriage certificate or parent’s marriage book;

3. Photocopy of limited stay permit card or permanent stay permit card.

g. Repatriation foreigners also must attach the proof that he/she has been Indonesian.

 

4. For foreigners who submit the request of limited stay visa to chief representative of Republic of Indonesia, also must attach this requirements :

a. Legal passport :

1. At least 12 months for who will stay in Indonesia at most 6 months;

2. At least 18 months for who will stay in Indonesia at most 1 year; or

3. At least 30 months for who will stay in Indonesia at most 2 years

b. Letter from director general of immigration; and

c. Photo 4 x 6 cm ( color )

 

5. For getting letter of agreement from director general of immigration, foreigners or guarantor must attach :

a. Letter of guarantee from guarantor;

b. Photocopy of passport;

c. Prove of having cost of living for him/herself and/or his/her family during his/her living in Indonesia;

d. Recommendation letter from government agencies or institutions for foreigners according as mentioned in point no. 3 a; and

e. Guarantor data.

 

6. For getting limited stay visa on arrival must attach the requirements :

a. Legal passport at least 12 months;

b. Letter of agreement from director general of immigration; and

c. Recommendation letter from the ministry or related non-ministerial government agencies.

 

7. For getting limited stay visa on arrival for foreigners who will join to work on the ship, floating equipment, or installation in Indonesia’s seas, territorial sea, continental shelf, and/or Indonesian exclusive economic zone ( ZEE ) besides you must fulfill the requirements as mentioned in point no. 1, also must attach issuing decision of limited stay permit form Director General.

 

 

Procedure

1. Immigration officers in the Directorate General of Immigration or Representation of Republic of Indonesia will check the requirements that the foreigners or guarantor have submitted.

2. If the requirements has fulfilled and paid in accordance with the legislation (UU), immigration officers will issue the limited stay visa at least on 3 workdays.

3. If there is no immigration officers in representation of Republic of Indonesia, limited stay visa will be given by Foreign Service officers.

 

Validity Period of Visa

1. Visa must be used for at least 90 days from date of issue.

2. If visa hasn’t be used on time period as mentioned in point no. 1, the visa will be declared invalid.

3. If the visa is already invalid, the foreigners who will enter Indonesia must re-submit the request of visa.
